Courtney Love has been cast in a chilling TV adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, aptly titled A Midsummer's Nightmare. Variety report that production of the Lifetime offering began last week in Canada, and the studio are billing the potential series as a psychological thriller. Nice.
So far only a pilot has been commissioned, but if the series goes ahead we're in for a treat. A Midsummer's Nightmare will follow a group of four young lovers who, according to Variety, "steal off into the woods in pursuit of their romantic desires."
The expedition doesn't go too well, and the group soon become stranded, finding themselves targeted by some dark and spooky forces. That's where Love comes in. She'll be playing a "mysterious woman in the woods," who uses the group's secrets and deepest dreams to torment them. We wanna watch it, but we might need someone to hold our hand.
