'Little' Louie Vega's heritage within house is no less than historic. The son of saxophonist Luis Vegas Snr., the Nyorican is your favourite DJ's favourite DJ; throughout the 90s, Vega and Master of Work dominated clubs with their seminal productions and game-changing remixes. Along the way, the Studio 54 alumni and Grammy award winning producer, DJ, songwriter, promoter and label owner has infused the world of House with the sounds of Samba, Jazz, Bossanova, Afro-Groove, never tiring of unearthing beautiful music and sending it out into Planet House. Ahead of playing Southport this weekend, the legendary Vega kindly curated an extra special one-hour mix for i-D, featuring Jimpster's mix of Freak Seven's We Bring The Music, Souldynamic's Equatoriale, finishing on Honeycomb and Vega's instrumental of I Put A Spell On You. Press play on sixty minutes of seriously soulful sounds as we enter the wonderful world of Louie Vega...

Masters At Work play Southport Weekender this weekend at Butlins, Minehead alongside Kerri Chandler, Nightmares on Wax, Sir David Rodigan, Black Coffee, DJ EZ and many more. Get tickets here
