Fletcher Aleckson, Francis Ximenez and Liam Benzvi met at the University of Minnesota and soon made their mark on the local music scene. On graduating they relocated to Brooklyn, re-recorded their Use Your Time Wisely EP (which is great advice by the way) and started to show New Yorkers the joys of sexy bass and harmonies. Grateful for something to get last month's brilliant Ricochet out of our heads, we're pleased to present the premiere of I Can't Control Myself; a summer track guaranteed to make you move. According to Liam, "the song is about wilfully ignoring common sense because you're so consumed in the adrenaline of a moment. It's about liking someone even if they're shit - and the fact that you wouldn't have it any other way. Acknowledging contradictions and defaulting to live by them." Always on our minds (and office stereo), Strange Names have succeeded in creating the kind of music people genuinely need; sunny, happy music that makes everything feel like it's going to be okay. Hit play and spread the love.

Use Your Time Wisely is out via Frenchkiss Records on 18th May. Pre-order here
