chanel launches pop-up make-up parlour in old spitalfields market
This month the iconic French house will be unveiling its Rouge Allure Ink Parlour, an immersive space where guests can customise their signature look with lip menus and interactive filter screens.
First Chanel whisks us away to SE15 (yes, that's Peckham) for The Fifth Sense Mirror Maze with set designer Es Devlin, and now the iconic French house has us heading to over to Old Spitalfields Market, where an exciting installation of its brand new make-up line, Le Rouge Collection N°1 colour, awaits. Dreamt up by Lucia Pica, Chanel's Global Creative Designer for Make-up and Colour, the collection is a love letter to the colour red.
"I am obsessed with the colour," Pica tells i-D in The Game-Changing Issue. "I always have been. As a colour it's very related to femininity, the flush of love, desire, health, fever, youth… Red is so strong to me and yet it is also intrinsic to the world of Chanel. Coco Chanel used to say 'put your red lipstick on and attack."
To celebrate the collection, this month, Chanel will be launching Rouge Allure Ink Parlour, exclusively at Old Spitalfields Market, an interactive and ever-evolving space where the design house will unveil eight shades of the new liquid lip ink to play around with. Customise your signature look with a bespoke lip menu and experiment with the interactive filter screen. Fun for all the family. Thanks Chanel!
