Anna Sui spring/summer 1994

Anna Sui has been having a good year since 1987, and shows no signs of slowing down. The Detroit-born designer capped off 2016 with a sellout Opening Ceremony led reissue of her most sought after archival designs. This year, she's looking towards the home. Sui has just announced she's at work on a collection of bedroom decor fit to make anyone's 90s teen dreams come true.

Beds can soon be adorned in Sui's famous prints, and the designer has also promised recreations of some of her own most prized possessions as a teenager growing up in the Motor City. As for the rest of the range, that's inspired in part by her vibrant shopfronts and in part by her own home: a Greenwich Village penthouse bedecked in black and white. "I created two looks," the designer explains, "One is based on the art nouveau feel of my boutiques, and the other one is inspired by the chinoiserie style you'd find in my own apartment." It's fitting that Sui's a house proud designer: she's been living in the same building for 17 years, though now she's on the top floor, not an itsy-bitsy studio. Onwards and upwards!
