10 things you need to know about jack mather
He looks like a mix of Jack Kilmer and Jordan Barrett and is London’s fittest skaterboy. Meet Jack Mather.
Brought up by the seaside in East Sussex, 17-year-old Jack Mather is a walking triumvirate of model, skater and carpenter (currently on hold while he turns his hand to the catwalk.) Skating the ramps of London and stomping the runways of Paris and Milan at shows including Prada and Dior during his fall/winter 15 debut, Jack's not a small town boy anymore. Often recruited not just for his mop of dark blonde hair, stubborn pout and chiseled cheekbones, but also for his skills on the ramps, we check out how he rolls in a film shot by Tom Mitchell. We know he's got steeze on a skateboard but here are 10 more things you didn't know about one of London's coolest new faces:
1. He's so popular, he was…
"…scouted at a festival by five different agencies before choosing Premier."
2. He's been skating for six years.
"My high school friends used to skate and are what got me started. I mostly skate my local parks back home, but when I skate London I often find myself at Mile End skatepark as I do love bowls."
3. In three words, he is an…
4. His hot secret talent is…
"I used to be a hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! player."
5. His role model is a daredevil skater who got his nickname from a Bond villain.
"Aaron "Jaws" Homoki, one of the gnarliest skaters out there."
6. He's dreaming big.
"I want to keep skating until I'm real old and use my carpentry skill to start building ramps or even parks some day."
7. This is why it's tight being a model, as said by a model:
"The best thing about modeling for me is the traveling, new experiences and easy dough."
8. He gets SAD.
"If I could change one thing about the world it would be to have nice weather every year in these crap weather countries."
9. If he was invisible for a day he would...
"…rob a bank or something."
10. The best advice Jack was given was by a bloke that used to teach him carpentry:
"He told me to not let this career change who I am."
