Do you remember where you were when the tender notes of "Only One" were delivered from heaven earlier this year? For many of us, this marked a turning point -- a moment of pure optimism we hasn't experienced since summer 2013. A new Kanye album felt imminent.

Next came the haunting choral vocals of "Wolves," which poured out of SNL's speakers during West's performance featuring Sia and Vic Mensa. The rapper followed the sung-spoken track with the firey and rambunctious "All Day," which arrived in a powerful live performance at the BRIT Awards alongside Allan Kingdom, Theophilus London and a who's who of British grime stars. Topped off with a secret show in London and a headlining slot at Glastonbury, the air was thick with Yeezy anticipation. But by the time "Fade"'s heavy beat rocked Yeezy's Season 2 presentation in September, we knew better than to get overly excited again.

We've waited all year for Kanye to drop SWISH (formerly known as So Help Me God) and it seems our prayers won't be answered before the year's out. Last night, West tweeted, "I'm finishing my album and my next collection…,"  which he followed with "DON'T ASK ME FOR ANYTHING TILL AFTER I'M FINISHED WITH MY ALBUM." Damn. For now, it seems all we can do is trust in the age-old proverb "good things come to those who wait." After all, Kanye is a man of great wisdom.
