bfc announce new milliners joining the headonism showcase
Two new emerging designers are named as recipients, and MM6 Maison Margiela joins the line-up.
The British Fashion Council have today announced the full catwalk and presentation schedule for London Fashion Week spring/summer 16, and have named the two new milliners joining the Headonism programme, as well as announcing that MM6 Maison Margiela will also join the headwear showcase.
Last year's recipients Emma Yeo and Keely Hunter will be joined by Filipino milliner Harvy Santos, who describes his works as, "Fearless fashion with unique creations that are entirely handmade using traditional techniques," and homegrown talent Sophie Beale, who says she makes, "Vibrant and captivating head pieces with a graceful delicacy."
"I am delighted that Harvy Santos and Sophie Beale are joining Headonism," says legendary milliner and curator of Headonism Stephen Jones OBE. "They are both wonderful milliners, who have a very distinct view on what millinery should be and the talent with which to express it," he continued, adding that, "Our Headonism stalwarts Emma Yeo and Keely Hunter are here creating unusual and avant-garde millinery and are London's finest."
The Designer Showrooms at London Fashion Week will run from 18 - 22 September.
