Following the rumours of takeovers by Joseph Altuzarra, Riccardo Tisci or even the possible return from Giannini's predessecor, Tom Ford, Alessandro Michele as much as put them to rest with his breathtaking debut menswear collection for Gucci this week, and it has just been announced that he will indeed be taking over the role of Creative Director. Put together in just five days, after Giannini's early departure, next in charge Michele pulled together a collection that captured Gucci's vision incredibly and received a standing ovation, with Michele taking a bow at the end.
