Soho gallery Maison Mais Non have announced details of an exhibition conceived last year by the late, visionary architect Zaha Hadid with Design Research Lab founder Patrik Schumacher and the gallery. Titled The Extraordinary Process, the exhibition explores how technology that we currently have access to will impact the world in the future, with Hadid's design studio facilitating a collaborative design process and network of creative professionals.
A broad spectrum of fashion designers are showing work in the exhibition, including fashion and technology pioneer Iris Van Herpen, London based designers Nasir Mazhar, Phoebe English, Krystyna Kozhoma and legendary milliner Stephen Jones, LVMH Graduate Prize winner Peter Do, and the design duo XO, who created Volantis, the flying dress worn by Lady Gaga.
The exhibition is envisaged through conversations between Hans Ulrich Obrist and curator Lou Stoppard. Fashion journalist Stoppard curated her first exhibition earlier this year, presenting Mad About the Boy, an exploration of fashion's obsession with the teenage boy at the Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion.
The Extraordinary Process will open at Maison Mais Non, a gallery that aims to "offer young artists and designers a place for experimentation," at 14 Greek Street in London's Soho on 15 September, to coincide with London Fashion Week.
