Alison Goldfrapp hit the stage in couture Hussein Chalayan last night, after a two-month collaboration on a costume that the designer has christened "She."

The look was on show at the Royal Albert Hall, where Goldfrapp were accompanied by the London Contemporary Orchestra for a one-night only event. Chalayan said he was "truly honoured to be approached," going on to explain that working with Goldfrapp, he found her energy to be "a mixture of warmth, shyness and playfulness."

The creation was the classic "converting couture" that Chalayan is known for, previously having created clothes that turn into tables and chairs.

"She" consisted of wide leg pants and an architectural jacket with cape back, which peeled down to the waist during the performance, transforming into a bustle. "I feel that the outfit we have created for Alison reflects many of her attributes, as well as my all-time interest in hybrid forms and transformation," Chalayan said.
