Get ready to feel very, very tense watching i-D's exclusive premiere of Mia Goth's upcoming film, The Survivalist. Taking home the Best Debut Director award for Stephen Fingleton and a Best Newcomer nomination for Mia Goth at the British Independent Film Awards, this post-apocalyptic thriller envisions a near-future dystopia where survival means a furtive life filled with suspicion and isolation in the woods for the 'Survivalist' of the film's title, played by Martin McCann.

The Survivalist's world gets a lot more complicated when a starving woman (Olwen Fouéré) and her teenage daughter (Mia Goth) arrive at his door. His guard lowered by loneliness, lust and mistrust threaten to topple his precariously balanced existence.

i-D Film Editor Colin Crummy included the film in his 2016 preview, calling it "a singular vision of the near future". Check out the film trailer and poster art above, both premiering exclusively today on i-D, and catch The Survivalist in cinemas and on demand from 12 February.
