yohji yamamoto is launching a new line with hello kitty
Following in the footsteps of Louboutin, Vans and John Galliano, Yohji Yamamoto is collaborating with Hello Kitty.
Not since Comme des Garcons collaborated with the ice princesses of Frozen on Dover Street Market's Christmas windows has there been such a cute and unlikely fashion pairing. According to WWD, the master tailor with a penchant for black, Yohji Yamamoto, will be teaming up with Sanrio - the fantastic people who brought us QT Hello Kitty. Together they're creating a new line called Kitty's, for which - unless Hello Kitty is willing to undergo a gothic makeover - Yohji is going to have to think pink.
Kitty's will include T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts and jackets, followed later by backpacks, hats and iPhone cases, emblazoned with the likes of Hello Kitty and her bunny pal My Melody. It will launch in two stores, one in Tokyo, one in Osaka, this spring. Meow!
