the smell of us: larry clark teams up with j.w. anderson
Not since Adam and Eve or Ben and Jerry has a collaboration been as celebrated as the pairing of cult filmmaker Larry Clark and designer J. W. Anderson. Playing on the title of Clark's latest film, which once again visits the teenage wasteland of sex, drugs, and doomed house parties, The Smell of Us is a book of photographs that feature the randy skaters of Paris and stars of Clark's hit new film styled in looks from Anderson's spring/summer 15 collection. From young bodies sprawled across hotel beds to boys in boxers and black leather hats, the result is a voyeuristic peek into the wantonness of youth and the subcultural roots of Anderson's collections. While a first batch of copies are only available at Colette Paris, subsequent copies can be found in Document Journal's spring/summer 15 issue, which will be available at specialist shops worldwide, at the end of March.
