rihanna’s new album rumoured to be debuting on jay-z’s tidal today
R8 could be available on the rapper’s music streaming service, which launches today.
Jay-Z is known for his business savvy and Rihanna for her ability to break the internet with any new release, so it makes perfect sense that the rapper/entrepreneur is rumoured to be getting the exclusive on the Bajan singer's new album, R8. Jay-Z's Tidal launches at 10pm GMT and with his friends all showing their supporting for #TIDALforALL through turquoise profile pics on Twitter, it's clear that he's using his significant clout to get plenty of sign-ups to the $19.99/£19.99 service in the US and the UK. And what bigger coup than to get the much-anticipated album from Rihanna to launch exclusively there?
The pair have a formidable working past together: Jay-Z was instrumental in signing Riri to Def Jam when she was a teen, she followed him to Roc Nation in 2009, they've collaborated on Run This Town and Talk That Talk and apparently Jay-Z was the brains behind all the e's in the Loveeeeeee Song title. These two are tight, so this rumour might just be right. Join us watching that countdown clock here on tidal.com, maybe with the odd distraction enjoying last night's debut performance of Bitch Better Have My Money on repeat.
Since posting this article, Rihanna has denied the album will be coming out on Tidal today, telling the rumours are... "LIES!!!! '@i_D: .@rihanna's new album R8 rumoured to be debuting on Jay-Z's Tidal today: http://bit.ly/1yspwNh '"
