mark lebon shoots sadie clayton’s autumn/winter 15 campaign
i-D get the exclusive on their collaborative video and accompanying lookbook shots.
Copper and sculpture collide in her signature aesthetic with its industrial influences and 3D manipulation. Clayton prompts us to reconsider how to dress the female form and to showcase her autumn/winter 15 collection (which fuses themes of spirituality, the metaphysical properties of stones, physiognomy and elements of witchcraft) the designer has collaborated with cult photographer Mark Lebon (of Buffalo fame) on a short film entitled "School Play", released in conjunction with an exclusive look book of images shot by the legendary image-maker.
Premiering here exclusively on i-D, Clayton says, "I have always wanted to work with Mark Lebon as I loved his aesthetic and he was so pivotal in the fashion movements that constantly inspire me. I love that the film has not been as polished and sanitised as everything else in today's society - it's raw, innovative and the journey of the process is portrayed in the outcome."
Lebon fervently adds, "I had to work with Sadie due to her talent, commitment, determination and above all research. I'm sick to death of young people asking for help without them even having researched what help they need and how exactly I could support them. Sadie had me sussed, I couldn't say no."
