Songwriting extraordinaire Sia Furler - famed for writing Chandelier, Elastic Heart and the majority of the biggest pop hits of the past 15 years - has proved herself once more by being named Songwriter of the Year at the Australasian Performing Right Association (Apra) for the third year running. Taking place in Sydney last night, the Chief Executive of the awards referred to the artist (the first ever to achieve such a feat) as "one of the most successful and acclaimed songwriters of her era". Not one for public events, the 39 year old had friend Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, dressed in a blonde wig, accept the award on her behalf. It was a double win for Sia last night, who went on to get Song of the Year for Chandelier too, taking her Apra stats up to six. Score!
