When it comes to new music informed by garage we hold our hands up, we're the first to admit that we can be pretty sceptical. It's a genre and time we hold so dear, yet through some form of misplaced sense of nostalgia, we are often quick to shoot down any new song with UK garage influence. LA based producer Kastle proves us wrong with his latest offering that brings the 90s UK garage flavour with a new school twist. It's an absolute banger.
Coming up with the crop of American producers influenced by garage, dubstep, grime, jungle and drum and bass, Kastle's sound pallet has taken on many forms. First catching our attention back in 2010 with his deep and downtempo edit of Sade's Soldier Of Love, Kastle has since let loose a string of self-released singles that have spanned from hip hop, to house, garage and bass and we are excited to exclusively share the producer's next drop. "You ever have that feeling you're not sure if you're awake or still dreaming? Like a lot of my music, this one continues to question reality. It's a challenging endeavour and one might as well dance through it." Kastle explains. 4 Real is a straight up garage banger that might even take EZ's hat off. Press play!
Kastle plays Control at Avalon, Hollywood this Friday alongside Shift Key and Jonas Blue. For tickets and head here
