Two very different designers with very similar talents for capturing the hearts and minds of the fashion crowd will head to Florence next season as J.W.Anderson and Virgil Abloh have just been announced guest designers at Pitti Uomo, for June's spring/summer 18 season of shows. They follow last season's British invasion, when Cottweiler collaborated with Reebok, and Paul Smith presented an immersive installation.

In a statement, Chicago-born designer Virgil spoke of the honour of taking part of Pitti, writing, "I recognise this platform amongst the most important arenas for recording fashion history over the years and it's my goal to add a unique chapter to that story". Virgil's studio is based in Milan, even though he shows in Paris, so it's only a short hop across Italy to Florence.

Though J.W. Anderson leaked the news of his appearance via Instagram at the start of the week, Pitti confirmed it today. "Florence's aesthetic is beautiful," he says in a statement. "Which will lend itself to be the perfect backdrop for the collection."

We're excited to see what both have in store.
