Last weekend synth masters GL released Number One, an exclusive 7" for Record Store Day. Because it's obviously a magical 24 hours, and Ella and Graeme are such nice people, they also included their brand new single Grip on the record. Ella says "Grip is about physical love. This is a recurring theme in our album Touch. When something takes its grip and really has a hold on you, it can feel like a game of cat and mouse. You might say all the right things, try and keep your cool but in the end your body does the talking." Deep stuff.

As Ella's rundown suggests, the track is taking the band in a more sensual direction-while maintaining their signature disco-pop sound. Obviously not all of us were lucky enough to have nabbed a copy, so if you weren't one of the people cramming yourself into a store on Saturday we've got you covered. Today the duo are very kindly premiering the track on i-D.

To celebrate our favourite song of the day, we thought we'd spend five minutes getting to know the pair a little better. After all, this track is pretty sexy. It seems the polite thing to do.

Who is your favourite couple?
Ella: Mariah Carey and James Packer.

What's the best gift you've ever received?
Graeme: Top 5 is definitely The Complete Simmons Drum Book I received for Christmas from my girlfriend. I even asked my Sister to clear-contact it for me, it is that cherished.

What's the most trouble you've ever been in?
Ella: Maybe the time I convinced my class in year three to tie our French teacher to a chair. I did break my arm while trying to escape so I guess that's karma.

If you could have one fictional character as a best friend, who would it be?
Graeme: Bootzilla

If you could sit next to anyone on a plane, who would it be?
Ella: Larry David. I would really like to meet Larry.

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you choose?
Graeme: Actually, I have to say Larry David for this one too.
