"IM DROPPING THE FINAL VERSION OF THE ALBUM TOMORROW FOR FREE CUZ IM FOR THE CULTURE THEN IM DROPPING ANOTHER NEXT WEEK," is what 2k17 emo prince Lil Peep shared on Twitter on Sunday night, before deleting the tweet. Originally due last Friday 11 August, his debut album, Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 1 got pushed all the way back to 1 September before (presumably frustrated with all the industry release bullshit) he put it out for free last night, tweeting, "Idk what's happening but I think my albums out take ur shirt off and listen to it rn." Which, of course, we all did right away.
Touching on getting high, being bi (probably), relationships and mental health, Lil Peep — or as our friends over at Noisey like to call him, The Boy With The Daddy Tattoo — channelled all the feels into just seven songs. With titles like Save That Shit, Awful Things, Better Off (Dying) and Problems, it's not exactly cheery, but if you're here, that's what you came for, right? Our heavenly GOTH ANGEL SINNER's not so old but already classic Benz Truck and The Brightside also feature on what makes for a nostalgia-tinged listen. This is for the emo kids who grew up and developed a taste for SoundCloud rap but weren't big fans of the rap bit.
