Since Dover Street Market relocated to Burberry's old stomping ground at 18-22 Haymarket, the two creative institutions have been collaborating on cool projects. In March, Burberry curated an exclusive collection of 20 restored Burberry coats to mark DSM's arrival, as well as housing some of their collection in the new DSM.

Now Rei Kawakubo has returned the favour, reworking three of Burberry's iconic trench coats for Commes des Garçons. Keeping to the original muted Burberry palette, it is the classic silhouette which has been radically changed.

Indeed, each piece has been deconstructed and dramatically re-shape (think jagged edges, big skirts and frayed hems) incorporating contrast wool gabardine or polyester in reference to the weatherproof fabric invented by Thomas Burberry himself. The result is a bold, searingly cool, and highly modern twist on an iconic design.

All three designs are now available exclusively at Dover Street Market, so what are you waiting for?
