Thea Blocksidge is a modern flower child whose Instagram we love. She moved to Melbourne six months ago after graduating in Fine Arts-Fashion from Queensland University of Technology. During her studies she lived between Brisbane and Byron, and also spent 6 months on exchange in India studying textile design. When she's not working on creations for label TLC (currently stocked by Kinobi and Homecoming Intl.), she's working it in front of the camera for Folk Collective.

Instagram handle?

Thebebebebebe (mum).

Where are you right now?
Sitting on my tiny deck watering my herb sprouts.

What do you do for work?
I'm a designer, maker and director of TLC (Thea Linda Collab), which started in collaboration with my friend Linda. I also work in two fashion retail stores, model at Folk Collective, and work at Clay, an organic grocer.

What do you do for fun?
I paint, go for long swims at the beach/waterfall/any kind of natural water hole, onsen/steam, hoard interesting objects and materials, cut up clothes and resew them, and travel.

Who was your hero in high school?
My cat Nini.

Who is your hero now?
I think it's important to be your own hero.

Who are the members of your dream girl gang?
I'm pretty lucky to be surrounded by the dreamiest of women, but if I were to go back in time—Francoise, Nico, Bardot, Karina, Verushka, Birkin, Pallenberg, Cicciolina, Didion, Nin. It would be sure to be a very groovy time and I'd learn a thing or two from these women.

What lyric sums you up?
"Wear your hair long babe you can't go wrong," from Ride a White Swan by Marc Bolan and T.Rex.

What song will forever put you in a good mood?
There's too many to choose from, but absolutely any 60s or 70s reggae! Also at the moment: Gypsy Woman by Joe BataanJeepster by T.Rex, and Hot Love and Ride a White Swan by Marc Bolan and T.Rex always. There's also What Am I Going To Do by Dovers, In India You by Brian Jonestown Massacre; I could go on and on.

What do you cook when you want to impress someone?
Vegetarian bibimbap looks pretty on the plate and is always delicious.

What's your dream pet?
To have my Nini forever.

What's something that you're passionate about?
In essence, a wholesome, happy and fulfilling life. Staying bizarre, being resourceful, challenging comfort, and laughing.

What TV show will you never get sick of?
I like cooking shows. River Cottage is a family favourite but that's about the only TV I ever watched when I had a TV.

What's your secret party trick?

If you had to wear one label for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I absolutely had, probably my own label TLC because then I could make myself anything to wear.

What do you love about the internet?
The ease of making connections with likeminded people. It's also a neverending picture book.

When did you join Instagram?
I think more than 200 weeks ago.

Describe your 'Instagram aesthetic'?
Bit o' this, bit o' that.

Who are your three favourite people to follow on Instagram?
There's too many, but @linda_linda (the other half of TLC), @penelope.pon (beauty extraordinaire) and @tara_sian (best homemade films).

Where else can we find you online?
On Tumblr.

Country or city?
Country by the sea is dreamiest place, but it's the city for now.

Britney or Beyonce?

Health food or junk food?
Health. The body is temple, don't waste food, everything in moderation.

Heels or sneakers?
I'd like to wear heels more.

Early mornings or late nights?
Let the sun shine in, but grooving late nights keep your blood pumping.

Dating or hanging out?
Hanging out.

Hotels or camping?
Bed or bush… pourquoi pas les deux?
