jennifer lawrence is "embarrassed" to come from same state as kim davis
The Oscar-winning actress also vows to continue speaking out about women's rights.
Jennifer Lawrence may be one of Hollywood's biggest stars, but this has never stopped her from speaking her mind. Last month the Oscar-winning actress let rip on the film industry's shocking gender pay gap and now she's shared her thoughts on Kim Davis, the notorious Kentucky county clerk who made headlines in July when she defied a federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. "Don't even say her name in this house," Lawrence told a Vogue interviewer after admitting she felt "embarrassed" to hail from the same state as the infamous homophobe. The 25-year-oldHunger Games star proceeded to explain how her political views have changed as she's grown older, and vowed to continue speaking out on issues that are important to her. "I was raised a Republican, but I just can't imagine supporting a party that doesn't support women's basic rights," she explained. "It's 2015 and gay people can get married and we think that we've come so far, so, yay! But have we? I don't want to stay quiet about that stuff." Amen to that, Jennifer.
