Taken from a career that spans five decades, Beyond Blonde is an expansive compilation of Steve Hiett's spectacularly vibrant photographs. Released today, the retrospective volume is packed full of never seen before photographs that date all the way back to the late 60s, when, after a brief stint as a frontman for psych pop group Pyramid, Hiett first started capturing the changing world of fashion through his distinctive style of high saturated colour and glaringly bright flash work.

"I don't think of myself as a photographer," Hiett has said of his career, "I think of myself as someone who uses the camera to create images that I see in my head." Indeed, whether it's 1970s Miami or 20th century New York, in each photograph is contained a world of its own, each with its own story to tell. Travelling the world with his camera, over the years Hiett has shot numerous times for Nova, Marie Claire, and French and British Vogue, while in New York he worked as an art director for various fashion magazines, including Arthur Elgort's Model & Manual. He continues to work as a fashion photographer, and is currently living in Paris.
