Jeremy Corbyn's hosting a talk at Glastonbury, protest marches see hundreds of thousands take to the streets and websites such as Change.org enable once impossible petitions to become possible, claiming victory more than ten times a day. Yes, it's fair to say we're more politically fired up than ever before. We know we have to face climate change, entrenched inequality, an ageing population and economic prospects far worse than those of our parents. But far from feeling apathetic, we're ready to take action and grab control of our lives and our futures.

In The Futurewise Issue of i-D, we investigate the issues affecting a global generation. One of which is the impending EU Referendum. Turner Prize winning artist and long-term i-D contributor Wolfgang Tillmans says please don't let your grandparents vote for your future. His attention grabbing artworks, clearly outlining the pros of remaining in the EU, have taken the digital world by storm. And rightly so. From democracy, to peace and human rights, be aware of what it means to leave the EU. The final vote is Glastonbury weekend (Thursday 23 June), potentially taking out a whole generation of voters. It's a scary thought. So remember, it's your future, not theirs. It's vital you register to vote before 7th June.

We also meet Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, the hugely inspirational, clued up teen who made headlines last year when he filed a lawsuit against the US Government for failing to tackle climate change. At only 15 years old, Xiuhtezcatl is emblematic of a generation determined to take things into their own hands, demonstrating a fearlessness of someone twice their age. Demna Gvasalia reflects on how a Soviet dream became a global movement with Vetements, and we fly to Tokyo to meet Yohji Yamamoto and discuss the launch of Y-3 SPORT, Y-3's first dedicated sportswear collection. Lady Leshurr chats queen and country; Troye Sivan and Keith Ape tackle life's major milestones, and we hit Cxema in Kiev, soon to be the most talked about club in the world and proof that crisis can create opportunity if you really want it. i-D's contributing photographers grab their cameras and hit the road, scouring the planet - from Addis Ababa to Belfast, Hawaii to Harlem - to gather a generation's thoughts on the political issues affecting the world today. With casting stories from Ari Marcopoulos, Harley Weir, Jason Evans, Oliver Hadlee Pearch and more, this is a global portrait of youth, opinion and style in 2016, as seen through the eyes of i-D.
