Spotted in a supermarket in Tallinn by an Italian modelling scout, Estonia-born, and forever 90s babe, Carmen Kass is the ultimate girl next door. Putting her dreams of becoming ‘Miss Estonia’ on hold, in 1996 an 18-year-old Carmen waved goodbye to her hometown and set off for the bright lights and big boulevards of Paris, to pursue a career in modelling. Since then, Carmen has stalked the catwalk for Versace, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and Chanel; struck poses for Vogue, Elle, and L’Officiel; fluttered her wings as a Victoria’s Secret Angel; and, in 2000, became the iconic gold dipped face of Dior’s J’adore. A heady mix of beauty and brains, not only is Carmen the poster girl of the nineties, she’s also an astute business woman; she’s part owner of her mother agency Baltic Models and is a pretty fine chess player - she’s the president of the Estonian Chess Federation!
