China’s shiniest fashion star Liu Wen, or ‘’little mosquito’’ as she’s called by her fans, began her career on the pages of Chinese Vogue and Chinese Harper’s Bazaar, having won a modeling competition in 2005. Two years later, after falling in love with her bright eyes, big smile and seriously cute dimples at a fitting in Beijing, Joseph Carle, then Creative Director of Marie Claire International, brought her over to Europe and launched her onto the global scene. Since then, Liu has become a fixture on the runways of New York, Paris and Milan, walking for everybody from Fendi to Alexander Wang. She’s also been shot by the world’s leading photographers - Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Sorrenti and Steven Meisel - for the world’s most fashionable glossies. Liu is the first model of Asian descent to walk for Victoria’s Secret and in 2010, became the first Chinese ambassador of cosmetics company Estée Lauder. Liu loves coffee, ice-cream and Chinese New Year (despite the dates always clashing with New York Fashion Week).
