Saskia de Brauw took an epic thirteen-year break from modelling to focus on her art studies after she was first discovered as a young teenager. When she returned at 29 with a art degree from Gerrit Reitveld Academie in Amsterdam, where she born in 1981, Saskia went straight to modelling hall of fame featuring in campaigns for Chanel, Fendi, Armani, Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, and Prada. Saskia, who was i-D’s cover girl in the Winter 11 issue, is still an artist in her own right working with photography and writing, and starred in David Bowie’s video for The Stars (Are Out Tonight).
