Once upon a time, Essex girl Victoria Adams AKA Posh Spice was dominating the charts with Ginger, Scary, Baby and Sporty. She married hunky Man U midfielder and England captain David Beckham, becoming first and foremost WAG. Posh and Becks became the power couple of the early noughties and over ten years later they’re still going strong with a brood of mini Beckhams (Romeo, Brooklyn, Cruz and Harper Seven) in tow. When the Spice Girls split the girls took to solo projects and, slowly but surely, Victoria morphed from pop princess to legit fashion hero. In 2006 she launched a denim label dvb Style as well as his and hers fragrances. After branching out into handbags, jewellery and eyewear, Victoria showed her first collection of dresses at New York Fashion week in 2009, to great acclaim. The antithesis of celebrity fashion lines, Victoria Beckham is widely revered for a strong but subtle sense of design and immaculate use of colour. Other fashion credentials include being the face of Marc Jacobs, walking the runway for Roberto Cavalli and not one but two i-D covers! Her first cover was in 2004 for The Secret Issue featuring Vicky and her great big sparkler of an engagement ring. Eight years later, for The Whatever The Weather Issue, i-D went to L.A for Victoria’s cover shoot for a long overdue catch-up and chat about her most recent collection.
