Thomas Tait did not intend to go into fashion, but thanks to his obsession with objects, the way they look and feel, he did. After completing a three-year technical diploma from College LaSalle in Montreal, the Canadian-born wunderkind went off to London to do an MA at Central Saint Martins and graduated in 2010 as the youngest ever designer to complete the course. That same year, Thomas made his London Fashion Week debut for spring/summer 11 and was announced as winner of the first Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize, taking him to New York to show his autumn/winter 11 collection. Thomas was selected and short listed for the prestigious Andam Award Paris 2012. Since then, he has been delighted women everywhere with his clean, understated, sport-chic aesthetic, sunglasses collaboration with Cutler & Gross, and all round precise, minimalist aesthetic. Thomas is very taken with his Nike 3.30’s, loves a bit of Sci-Fi, and has a borderline addiction to Vietnamese food (particularly the Hackney variety).
