Born to an English father and Danish mother, Kim spent his childhood years travelling around the world, ending up in London where his sister gave him a bunch of i-D back issues and the rest, as they say, is history. In 2002, fresh from an MA in Menswear from Central Saint Martins, half of which was snapped up John Galliano, British designer and Lily Allen’s old flatmate, Kim Jones established his own label. Since then, he’s collaborated with everyone, from Umbro to Uniqlo, Topman to Alexander McQueen, only to be snapped up in 2008 by menswear label, Dunhill. Aside from Ms Kardashian, Mr Jones is the other Kim in Kanye’s life; the pair collaborated on Pastelle, the rapper’s would-be debut clothing line (it was never actually launched). In 2011, it was announced that Kim would become style director of menswear at Louis Vuitton, a position he’s held ever since. For autumn/winter 13, Kim teamed up with the dark brothers of the art world, Jake and Dinos Chapman, to create a capsule line for the brand, featuring fanged creatures, severed eyeballs, and snow leopards from Hell itself.
