Sølve Sundsbø was born and raised in Norway. In 1995 he moved to London and began studying at the London College of Printing, becoming Nick Knight's assistant after just 4 months. Since then, he has become a regular contributor to publications including Italian Vogue, Numéro and Interview. His commercial clients have included Chanel, Cartier, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermès, H&M, Levi’s, Nike and Yves Saint Laurent. In 1999 Sølve was voted the best newcomer at the International Festival of Fashion in Hyères. He has also produced films for Nike, Gucci, Biotherm, SHOWstudio and i-D. Sølve shot a staggering twelve cover stars for The Best of British Issue, March 2009. In 2011, he won an Emmy award in the category ‘New Approaches to News & Documentary Programming: Arts, Lifestyle and Culture,’ for the film he directed, 14 Actors Acting. That same year, he catalogued the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition at the Met. Sølve continues to live in London with his wife and three sons and is inspired by, “the same things as ten years ago: everything, everyone, everywhere, all the time”.
