Fashion-student-turned-stylist-extraordinaire, Mel Ottenberg is the fashion editor of Purple, and in 2013 he was appointed fashion firector of 032c. Elsehwere, his editorials pop up in i-D, V and Harper’s Bazaar, yet he’s probably best known for his work dressing current queen of pop Rihanna in custom Jeremy Scott and vintage Fiorucci. His inspiration comes from 90s fashion spreads from i-D and The Face, and his memories of the kids in 9th grade. His favourite bands are The Smiths and The Cure. His favourite star that he’s styled? Well, it’s a toss-up between Pamela Anderson and Britney. He styled Daisy Lowe for the cover of The Couples Issue (August 2007), and put James Franco in drag, but he says if he weren't a stylist he’d be a professional jet skier instead.
