Adam Kimmel’s first fashion memory is of his jumpsuit-wearing grandpa. This probably explains why jumpsuits (soft and snuggly meets hard-edge chic) have become a signature style for the New York designer. Adam graduated in Architecture and Urban Design from New York University in 2001. He began making menswear for his friends as a hobby (that’s Michael Pitt, Mark Ronson andNorman Reegus btw) and was instantly hooked. Adam spent six months in Italy in 2003 to study the art of tailoring and patternmaking and set up his own eponymous label the following year. Adam counts hip-hop heavy-weight Snoop Dogg as a muse, is a big fan of Marcel Duchamp, and, most importantly, knows how to make a mean roast chicken (buy it from Whole Foods, they salt it in brine). Adam is currently taking a hiatus from fashion - "To enrich [his] vision, spend time with [his] family, and explore a number of creative arenas that have interested [him] while [he’s] still young.”
