Terry Richardson is the 21st century’s answer to Andy Warhol. His studio, the modern day equivalent to Warhol’s factory, is a watering hall for actors, models, playboy bunnies and a monkey, all of whom are looking to freeze their 15 minutes of fame in one of Terry’s iconic portraits. Born in New York City, Terry’s love of photography began in high school, depicting himself, his friends and his surroundings. As well as i-D, Terry is a regular contributor to Purple, Dazed & Confused, W, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, and British and French Vogue. His commercial clients have included Chloé, Gucci and Miu Miu, while his impressive list of celebrity subjects includes Daniel Day Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Ford, Jay Z, Karl Lagerfeld and Barack Obama. Often appearing in his shoots alongside his sitters, Terry did just that for The Beat Issue, July 2003 with Chloë Sevigny becoming an i-D cover star himself, photographed Daisy Lowe and her then-boyfriend for the cover of The Couples Issue, August 2007, Carine Roitfeld for The Dreams and Aspirations Issue, Pre-Fall 2012, and Cara Delevingne, Charlotte Free and Kelly Mittendorf in multiple covers for The Just Kids Issue, Fall 2012.
