Founded in 1966 by husband and wife team, Vittorio and Laura Moltedo, Bottega Veneta is Italian for ‘Venetian shop’ but it has never been just any old shop by the canal. Bottega Veneta is one of the most sought after luxury labels in the business, famous for it’s pedigree in fine leather goods.During the 80s, the brand received more than its 15 minutes of fame through a short film made by the crowned prince of Pop Art, Andy Warhol, who bought his Christmas presents at the New York store. When the house was acquired by KERING Luxury Group, formerly known as Gucci Group, in 2001, the design house had its own Renaissance, with the announcement of Thomas Maier as creative director. Since then, the brand has added ready-to-wear lines, fine jewellery, home fragrance and furniture to its ever-expanding repertoire.
