The brilliance of Belstaff perhaps lies in the fact that everyone from Che Guevara to Pope Benedict XVI has wanted to wear its’ sartorial offerings. Founded in 1924, the iconic British brand began outfitting bikers and aviators throughout the land before becoming Italian-owned in the 1990s and adding Hollywood domination to the to-do list. In 2011 Belstaff was acquired by Labelux, Tommy Hilfiger and Harry Slatkin. Belstaff was relaunched for autumn/winter 12 with a collection designed by Martin Cooper, formerly design director at Burberry, where he worked for more than 16 years.
