Jeremy Scott’s story is the stuff of fairy tales and syndicated game shows. Born in 1974 and raised in Kansas City, Scott was the boy who read Italian Vogue between classes. After graduating from New York’s Pratt Institute, the 21-year-old made a pilgrimage to Paris, where his collection, made out of paper hospital gowns and inspired by body-modifying artist Orlan, went down in fashion folklore. Jeremy’s colourful and optimistic vision has developed into strong collaborations. In 2006 he began designing bags for Longchamp, in 2008 he launched a collection with adidas and, much to his own surprise, recently designed a pram for baby company CYBEX. The designer’s artistic energy continues to inspire his many celebrity fans, from Madonna to Beth Ditto. In October 2013, it was announced that he would become creative director at Moschino whilst continuing his own line. As Jeremy himself might say, vive l’avant-garde!
