Born in Minneapolis, Suzy has written for i-D since moving to London in 1991 and has never quite stopped being a riot grrrl. Her journalism - for all the best British magazines and newspapers - encompasses cultural commentary and profiles in creative courage, whether the subjects are actors, architects, contemporary artists, directors, musicians, photographers, supermodels or other writers. She is also editor of the feminist short story collection Typical Girls, an occasional curator and a writer of fiction. Now working on a novel, a non-fiction account of revolutionary Huguenot ancestors, and a television project about the early days of vice squads in between writing features and channelling her inner American to bake some of the world's finest brownies.
