top men's baggy trousers from spring/summer 14

Unless we’re wearing a Raf Simons man-dress with the designer’s words, “This is the new shape,” bouncing off tees and into our minds, trouser shapes rarely stray too far from their two-leg aesthetic. However, this season we saw cropped trousers and wide-leg numbers. Bermudas were an undeniable hit with Yohji Yamamoto and Astrid Andersen’s boys – the former worn topless for ultimate sexy summer vibes. There was a smart-casual approach at Diesel, lifting waists high, and a similar tone seen in Versace’s and Acne’s gods in wide legs. Whatever way you wear them, it’s time to get wide, boy.

"I liked Yohji Yamamoto’s blunter shapes. I think people are looking for a newer shape." Christopher Shannon
