perfect pieces of Edun

Edun is one of New York's accumulating strengths. The city's fashion, directed towards a luscious minimalism is given considered kicks and colourings through brands such as Edun. Serious and strong, yet interesting, intimate and inimitable; we are already recognising alluring wide silhouettes and playful textures and we are excited! Danielle Sherman travelled to Africa for the autumn/winter 14 Edun collection, and she did it in a supreme variety of greys, black, creams and browns. Through the earthy colours of Africa and the textile patterns of the continent, Sherman absorbed all to create a contemporary seductive collection.

Brogan Loftus was dressed in a triumvirate of grey, white and black. Light on bottom, these trousers were stand-outs within the whole collection. The dark jersey and velvet roll-neck were a considered styling hit that made this look far too fucking cool for school and we loved it.

Wide pants again in a luscious camel and a woven vest dress. All we need is a white vest underneath to tease out the fact that everything is so low and baggy that it can slip of oh so easily.

Creamy all-over looks were a sensual hit on the Edun catwalk. Tracksuit bottoms were covered by an elegant oversized tank top and accessorised with see-through long sleeved tops underneath. And the pretty laced Stan Smiths? YES PLEASE.

Malaika Firth's camel coated catwalk strut was an NY fashion dream of lavish pencil skirts made ghetto with elegant sweatshirts. Manolo Blahnik boots to finish off the look and an untucked plain white tee- phwoar.

The all black suit was a wide silhouette and effortlessly cool. Strong shoulders emphasised regalness, another part of Sherman's African reference.
