Wanna dress like i-D? Follow our highlights of the London collections

London Fashion Week has been and gone, and left us smiling! Five days of shows, celebrities, fans and critics, new models starting their careers, young designers making their names, and the more established flexing their muscles in stunning, mature collections, autumn/winter 14 was something-special-sexy-wonderful. We asked our directors, editors and writers for their highlights...

"I fell in love with Christopher Kane's bin bag couture, Simone Rocha's sultry snakeskins, Peter Pilotto's squiggle knits, Ashley Williams' space age cowgirls, and despite my own wardrobe being a sea of black and grey, Sophia Webster's sugary pink dream heels totally rocked my world!" Holly Shackleton, Editorial Director

"I loved everything about Christopher KaneSimone Rocha and Peter Pilotto, all three had their strongest collections to date. Other standout pieces included the biker pants at Giles." Alastair McKimm, New York Fashion Director

"Whilst their effervescent talent fizzed and thrilled, both Simone Rocha and Meadham Kirchhoff served up heady cocktails that balanced their distinctive signatures with a seductively commercial twang. Drink up." Steve Salter, Fashion News Editor

"Smelling Tralala for the first time when the Meadham Kirchhoff invitation arrived and was drenched in it. There's no one better to do a perfume than Ben and Ed, and I thought it was a real moment seeing them so happy after their show, which was almost the fragrance in motion." Anders Christian Madsen, Fashion Features Editor

"The Mapplethorpe inspired Marques'Almeida show, Patti Smith would be proud!" Jack Borkett, Fashion Editor

"I really enjoyed sitting behind Kate Moss, Anna Wintour and Kendall Jenner at the Topshop Unique show. And singing Evita songs with Anders Christian Madsen in the car. And the pleated party dresses at Mary Katrantzou. And the furry jackets at Paul Smith. And my smell-fabulous Meadham Kirchhoff invitation. And all the lovely people who work in the industry :)" Sarah Raphael, Deputy Editor

"My highlight was working with my BFF Ashley Williams on her last ever Fashion East show." Julia Sarr-Jamois, Fashion Editor

"My highlight was that all the first year students I work with from BA Fashion Journalism at Central Saint Martins saw loads of shows and wrote about, photographed and filmed them. For many of them it was the first time they'd been to London Fashion Week." James Anderson, Fashion Features Editor

"My fashion week highlights were hanging out with Lily McMenamy and getting bad tips from her for surviving fashion week, interviewing Natalie Westling - the most chilled model ever, Sophia Webster's Heartbreak Hotel, the Ryan Lo, Marques'Almeida and Meadham Kirchhoff shows, making friends with Arya Stark, and the GILES show where Lily fell even more gracefully than Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars and I saw Kendall Jenner for the first time." Felicity Kinsella, Assistant Editor

"Simone Rocha tarten and Christopher Kane overcoats!" Ger Tierney, Executive Fashion Editor

"I loved Vivienne Westwood red label - snazzy combos and signature Westwood looks. It was tailored but with a quirky edge, oh so adorable! I love all those touches that make Westwood so wantable. Then Meadham Kirchhoff lived the dream in boxy suits and floaty layers of lace and chiffon which I adored… I would wear everything from Tralala this season! Also have to mention Ashley Williams too, what a darling, she had pony motif riding sleeves, fringing and canary yellow sequins! Our Pam Hogg sent her models slinking down the runway in her signature catsuits and cute hand knits with activist slogans… Yes it's time to take a stand! #pussyriot! Sibling was drenched in the threads of gothic romanticism with fab hats btw from Bernstock Spiers! And… is that too many?!" Princess Julia, Culture Correspondent

"My highlight was the Topshop space in the beautiful Tate Modern, it was so huge and full of energy!" Bojana Kozarevic, Fashion Assistant

"Felicity, Holly and I sat front row for Meadham Kirchhoff's parade of beautiful misfits. With the showspace smelling of sweet musky violets, the girls took an afternoon stroll through a glittery tunnel of love and we fell truly, madly, deeply for the entire collection. Floaty pastel doll dresses were followed by velvet ice skater looks, shiny python skirts and the kind of rainbow boots that normally only happen in my dreams. Mermaid hair and minimal makeup reigned supreme. It was magical!" Francesca Dunn, Staff Writer
