Up-and-coming producer JD Reid recently followed up his series of classy grime and hip hop edits with his first full EP for Rinse FM, and on it was a monster of a track featuring the legend that is grime's D Double E. Now, i-D are pleased to share the visual for the track.
"I bought a Koto based compilation (a traditional Japanese stringed instrument) on Record Store Day, then took it to the studio and lit up some Nag Champa. After a couple hours I ended up with the instrumental Rōshi. To me it felt like the theme tune for some sort of Grandmaster or Sensei. When it came to thinking of who represented that kind of legacy, D Double E was the first person who came to mind."
