As we charge head first into winter, Breakbot’s new track has an effect like cough syrup.

After a three year hiatus, the French holy spirit of electro-pop is back with a new album, "the perfect soundtrack for a last barbecue around a swimming pool." With the class of vintage funk and a pinch of glamorous French Touch' eroticism, Breakbot has put down a solar note which feels like the beat of a late summer sun ray. "The inspirations of this new album swing between californian music from the 70s and 80s and disco-funk - from Curtis Mayfield to Prince and Michael Jackson."

We'll have to wait a little more for the rest, but Breakbot has left one of his new babies to i-D, Back for More, which announces the prodigy's resurrection. The track was composed in collaboration with Irfane (his music acolyte) and mixed by Breakbot's brother. It promises a familial and cosmic piece (due early 2016 on Ed Banger Records). The artistic direction was thought by the brilliant and fanciful Philippe Jarrigeon who emphasized the artist's pop and synthetic universe.

Deep down, Breakbot's music provokes the same kind of fantasy in all of us : an uncontrollable urge to bounce and snap our fingers in the street, wink at the old neighbour walking her pet, high five a Travolta's doppelganger, and turn a whole tube carriage into an improvised disco ball. Just what we need to light up a gloomy autumn afternoon.
