life is a graveyard party with dream wife

Ahead of their Moth Club Halloween party, take an exclusive listen to a dark rework of F.U.U ft. a verse from Vidgis of Reykjavíkurdætur. Plus, read on and weep with terror as the girls invoke the spirit of their ultimate female horror queens.

Now is the time. This is the hour. Theirs is the magic. Theirs is the power. There are very few people we'd rather spend Halloween with than London-based band Dream Wife. Butter wouldn't melt frontwoman Rakel Mjöll seems ever on the verge of turning on you with her sickly sweet smile and wide eyes as she rips the head off your childhood pet and breaks your heart in one fail swoop. Bandmates Alice Go and Bella Podpadec are more serious, furiously and expertly playing their guitar and bass respectively as, collectively, they slay.

It seems fitting then that this Monday 31st October, the girls will turn everybody's favourite Moth Club into a full-on graveyard party. With tarot card readings, costume competitions and music from your lovely hosts and their freakish friends, it's bound to be a scream. As the final hour approaches, Dream Wife have recorded a little something special to get you in the mood for a fright night full of ritualistic celebration.

While you might have already heard a slightly less evil version of F.U.U, this is SOMETHING ELSE. With added screaming and the best kind of Spice Girls breakdown, these girls really really really wanna fuck you up. Plus, the bonus verse from Fever Dream aka Icelandic rapper Vidgis from Reykjavíkurdætur is absolutely killer.

No stranger to horror movies, having crafted their own in recent lo-fi music video Lolita, we asked the wives to share their all-time favourite all-powerful horror movie girls. Damsels in distress need not apply. Dream Wife 4 lyf… and death.

The ultimate horror queens according to Dream Wife:

      Carrie White from Carrie
"Carrie White is ofc the ultimate horror queen. Played by Sissy Spacek, Carrie is a tortured, telekinetic high schooler who's ferociously religious upbringing combined with cruel classmates leads to a bloodbath, fireball of a prom."

      Ripley from Alien
"Alien is a masterpiece and Ripley is so badass. Ripley is not a prop, she is smart, she is strong, she is not a victim and she is not a fantasy of a woman."

      Mary from American Mary
"American Mary is a black comedy about an underground body modification surgeon. She does things like help people realise their dreams of being a human doll and mutilates the genitals of her ex professor bc he raped her. A lot of it's set in a strip club too."

Scarlett Johansson's character in Under the Skin
      "
Does she even have a name? Scarlett plays a mysterious alien creature who roams around Scotland feeding on the sexual energy of unsuspecting men. It's all very surreal, frightening and some of the characters in it didn't even know they were going to be in a film."
