German producer Marius Lauber AKA Roosevelt seems to channel summer in everything that he makes. His debut album, released via Greco-Roman and City Slang records last year, is an Ibiza house disco party guaranteed to bring the sunshine to your greyest of days. Inspired by classic 80s pop as well as French electro, Marius later put out Belong, a pleasant synth pop tune crying out to be synced with an unusually happy scene in the next season of Stranger Things. Or even that Donnie Darko remake we keep reading about.

With a history in bands and an impressive array of DJ residencies, Roosevelt understands both worlds and merges genres accordingly. This mix is no different. Easing you through the day and out into the night, stick this on and things will start looking up.

Hi Roosevelt! What are the top three tracks getting heavy rotation in your sets?
      6th Borough Project, Closer
      Luke Abbott, Modern Driveway
      Marvin & Guy, Egoista

What's the most hedonistic party you've ever been to?
New Year's Eve in my friend's horse stable in my home town in 2007!

What's the most phenomenal clubbing venue in the world and why?
King George in Cologne. This is not really a club but more of an intimate bar. It still has the vibe of a strip bar, which it used to be before it reopened, and has the best selection of local DJs in the city.

If you could go back to back with any DJ, at any venue, who would it be and why?
With Larry Levan at Studio 54. This seemed to be the perfect clubbing environment and I would love to time travel to one of these nights and see for myself!

History is made at night. What was the best night of your life?
I hope (and I'm quite sure) that the best is still to come!

What's the most debauched thing you've ever seen on the dancefloor?
I played at a great gay party in Brussels and at some point I realised that I was the only one fully clothed.

What would your dream rider consist of?
For our live shows I'd like to put all of our gear on the rider. Flying around with a lot of synths and guitars can be quite a pain sometimes.

What does your actual rider consist of?
I like to keep it quite simple: white wine and sparkling water and I'm happy.

What's your favourite party anthem of all time?
Westbam ft. Nena, Oldschool Baby (Piano Version).

Do you think music subcultures are losing their definition?
Sometimes you can miss the isolation of a defined scene. On the other hand the fact that every scene is now connected is very energising and helps create new sounds.

What producer are you predicting big things from this year?
      Harvey Sutherland.

Where do you go when the record ends and the lights come on?
      To my hotel room.

What track would you end the night on when everyone's still awake and it's time to go to sleep?
      Wings, Goodnight Tonight.

      What's your party trick?
When there's a warm up DJ whose set is too heavy I take a complete break before I start mine. Around 2 minutes of silence gives people fresh ears and lets them begin again.

Finish the sentence, the music sounds better with…
      Drums.
